World-leading energy efficiencies

Ceravision's technology platform has combined a number of technical breakthroughs to create a light source with unparalleled levels of energy efficiency.

High Efficiency Plasma Lighting Fitted for High Bay

We are able to deliver exceptionally high lumens per watt levels due to the unique construction of our integrated resonator and plasma burner. Most importantly, the use of an optically clear waveguide enables access to all of the light emitted by the plasma source.

The absence of electrodes enables absolute flexibility in the choice of dose chemistry, giving our lamp designers the freedom to select high efficiency doses which are otherwise unavailable for use in electroded lighting systems.

There are no additional ballast losses or power factor correction issues to consider with Ceravision's High Efficiency Plasma (HEP) lighting systems. The power stated is the power used. Ballast energy losses present a serious drawback to conventional lighting systems using either traditional or electronic ballasts.

As a result of all the above features, on a system watt basis the Ceravision HEP lighting system draws substantially less energy for the same light output, when compared to alternative electroded and electrodeless lighting systems.

The HEP system delivers an output in excess of 90 lumens per system watt.

Small source size

The relatively small size of our quartz resonator and integrated burner has the twin effect of efficient generation and collection of increased levels of usable light (more than 90% of the generated light), dramatically improving energy efficiency even further.

For the general illumination market in particular, the superior luminaire efficiency that we offer equates to at least a 50% reduction in the number of luminaire fittings required by our customers.

Improved lifetimes and lumen maintenance

The absence of metal electrodes significantly increases the lifetime of our products in comparison to alternate lighting solutions and results in lumen maintenance of 90%. The Ceravision HEP lighting fixtures will deliver 90% of stated lumen output at all times in the lifetime of the system. Comparable devices can have lumen maintenance of 50% after just 1000 hours of operation.

The magnetron is controlled by a custom designed microprocessor which ensures that it operates well within peak running limits, substantially increasing the lifetime of the RF generator.

Dimming capability

The HEP lighting system has full controllable, real – time dimming capability down to 20% of system power with an equal reduction in power consumption from the grid, giving customers a genuine opportunity to reduce actual energy consumption. This also means that fixtures can now be utilised effectively to reflect actual task level lighting requirements.

Hot re-strike

High Efficiency Plasma sources have a hot re-strike capability of less than 60 seconds. This compares to re-strike times of at least 10 to 15 minutes for incumbent technologies.

Intelligent lighting control

The software incorporated into the power supply has full functionality for users to control and monitor either individual lamps and / or complete lighting systems from one central command centre. This allows responsive control from any remote location giving the opportunity for even greater energy savings.

Scalability

The unique principles which underpin the design of the integrated quartz resonator provide complete freedom for the Ceravision product design team. As a result, we can provide complete lighting solutions within the 100 W – 5 KW power range.

HEP lighting is extremely well suited to a range of applications within the general illumination, entertainment and projection lighting markets.

Complete dose flexibility

Due to the absence of electrodes, we are able to offer flexible dose chemistry, including mercury free options.

As a result, we can offer lighting solutions with:

  • Colour temperatures of 2,000 – 12,000 degrees Kelvin
  • CRI up to 95%

Recyclable technology

The Ceravision HEP lighting system is 80% recyclable with no specific disposal requirements.
